What a day! We took all five kids down to Sioux Falls today. The girls all had an appointment with the dentist. We got there in time for our 9:40 appointment and they all went in. Becca is the only one who had a cavity (her third) so they filled it for her. They all got a new toothbrush and their little goodie bag too. Becca was a little upset that they had to fill her tooth but maybe it will convince her that mom and dad are not crazy when they tell her she needs to brush her teeth well, not just quickly.

After the dentist we went to Walmart and just window shopped. I was going to have the kids pictures taken for Easter but decided against it. I would have to get all five of them dressed and hair curled and then drive 11/2 hours and have them not get all messed up. I think I will attempt a pic with our new digital camera and just have them printed. It should be a cute pic as the girls all have similar dresses. I still don't have an outfit for Billy IV. The ones at Walmart weren't what I was looking for either. We did end up buying Brother Bear to add to our Disney collection. The kids were excited but really grouchy from too much shopping. We decided to head home after that. We stopped in Brookings to eat lunch and then we left Billy at work. He gets to work all evening now to make up for being gone today. We got home and the kids all sorted through their stuff and then sat down to watch Brother Bear.

I also got the VCR for our van that I ordered off of ebay (my first purchase)today too. It was only 35.00 versus the 160.00 I would have paid at a dealership and it is brand new. I am happy to have a working vcr again. The kids will be too. :)

I still haven't gotten into the bathroom to start mudding the walls yet. Billy is being a butthead about me doing it cause he is a perfectionist (not a surprise to anyone who knows him well) and he is constantly critizing my work. He is not very tactful about it either. Maybe I should send him back to school, I seem to remember taking a class at SDSU during my education classes about critizing with taste and not being mean. Do you think he would get the point? LOL Maybe I will get in there yet this week. My sister Vonnie is due to arrive in a couple of weeks so it would be nice to have it done. That is not looking very promising though.
Here a few of the pics we have of our progress:

Well I made it two days in a row! :)

We are gearing up for the end of the school year. It seems like everyday a new activity comes home with one of the kids. They get to do jump rope for heart in April. I am also winding down Girl Scouts. I am the leader for Becca and Megan's troop so I get the fun of planning all the activities and such. We are doing a troop camping trip this summer so the girls can experience outdoor life. :) We went camping last summer but we went with all the girl scouts in the area and they just went to the park in Clear Lake so it wasn't all that exciting. We were right in the middle of town. I want to try a lake and some hiking with the girls this year. They also have their bridging ceremony in April so I need to get ready for that.

I am so excited that spring is finally coming. I love the sunshine in the mornings and being able to walk outside barefoot and in shorts. I saw the tulips that I planted in the fall are peeking above the dirt today. I can't wait for summer when we can fill up the pool and spend our days outside. We are planning to buy a grill this summer so we can cook outside and spend more time with the kids. Last year we created a grill with bricks in our yard. We figured since we are allowed to burn leaves and stuff it would hurt to burn some food too. LOL

Oh and Billy IV got his trawbee cake last night after dinner. I made cupcakes and he licked all the frosting off. It was the first thing he wanted when he got up this morning too.

This may be tougher than I thought. :) I have to remember to log in to this everyday so ya'll know what we are up too.

Today has been pretty uneventful. I just finished scrubbing my house top to bottom. I love to sit and stare at my clean house on days like this. At least it will stay clean for a couple of hours until Becca and Megan get home from school. Cassie and Marea are home today since they don't have preschool on Mondays. Billy IV is also home as usual. He has a wild hair today and keeps telling me he wants trwberry cake (Strawberry Cake). LOL Fortunately for him I have one in the pantry so I can make one for desert tonight. He is cute as a button as usual too. He is talking a mile a minute and in full and complete sentences already. He turns two on June 21.

It is hard to believe we have been in our house two years already. We bought it April 12, 2002. We have made so many improvements to our house that I doubt the original owner would even recognize it anymore. Speaking of which, we just finished sheetrocking the new bathroom downstairs. I am going to try to get it mudded this week so that Billy and I can work on the floor this weekend. We are putting ceramic tile in and this will be a first for us so hopefully all goes well. :) I love doing all the hands on projects this house is allowing us. If you want to see a list of things we have done so far check out our family webpage at: http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~moat/
I finally got a new computer that my digital camera plugs into so hopefully I can get some pics up for you all to see soon. I just haven't had time to mess with my webpages since we started this recent remodeling project. :)

Aunt Vonnie is coming to see us for Easter and the kids are so excited. We want to get this room done as much as we can so she and Shannon (and the baby) have a quiet place to stay. We even bought and airbed so she will have a comfortable (although low) place to sleep. :) Hopefully by the next time they come we will have a real bed in there for them.

Becca and Megan are doing well in school. They are both getting S's or S+'s (equivalent of A-B and A+. I am amazed at how fast they learn in school. Becca is in 2nd grade and Megan is in 1st. They both have spelling test's each week and flashcards. They always come home with plenty of homework too. I think I liked homework better when it was mine. LOL I will be glad when the kids are older and don't need me to help so much.

Marea and Cassie are also doing well in preschool. Cassie is so smart the teachers keep thinking she is the one headed for kindergarten next year. :) Marea is about on target for her age but she struggles more to learn new things. If she let go of some of her stubborness I think it would be easier for her. She is continuing therapy though sporadically now. I think for my sake, she needs to go back to a better routine. She also continues to take meds for ADHD. At first I doubted she needed them, but now I can see she really did. Her teachers are amazed at the difference in her at school. She went from 25-30 redirections a day to four or five. That is much more age appropriate. I hope it helps her next year when she gets into kindergarten.

Billy and I are doing well too. Our 11th anniversary is coming up in June. It is so hard to look back and believe it has been 11 years since we got married. It hasn't always been peachy but thankfully we have always been able to work out our problems and find a way to help each other. Marea has been the biggest challenge to our relationship and I can say we are handling it to the best of our abilities. I look forward to the next 11 years with my best friend, husband, and companion. ;)

Well that is enough for one day, don't ya think? ;)
